the Moon - the inner you

The Moon rules the fourth house and the sign of Cancer. With the Sun and Saturn it is one of the three ego planets, representing your feelings and emotions. The Sun represents the mind or will, and Saturn is the body. Many people relate more to one than the other. If you work out in the gym you are making use of your Saturn power, but more of that later.

power planets

The Moon is about how you relate to others, whether in your family, friends or lovers. We see elements of ourselves reflected in others and we may project our feelings onto others. Are you feeling and owning your anger or do you see it in your partner?

Also, the Moon symbolises the eternal child within us. Some of us have never quite grown up and some of us a bit too grown up. So in its sleeping state, the Moon can become the demanding, screaming child: "I want it and I want NOW!"

Your main concern is your needs and what makes you feel good. Other people are not really part of the picture, except in what you can get out of them. Do you know any adults like this? There is a free flow of emotion, stress, temper tantrums and sometimes hysterical laughter. Okay, so we all get like this sometimes!

In its awakening state, the Moon loves with passion and becomes aware of other people. We feel empathy and sympathy and can respond to other's needs, without losing sight of our own needs and in its fully awakened state, the Moon becomes sensitive to intuitive information, and can respond appropriately to other people, with tenderness, care and respect.

We feel linked to people on a global scale through common experience. Remember the tide of feeling that swept the nation on the death of Princess Diana?

Some people, particularly those of you who are either Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces will respond to the world mainly through your emotions, rather than your logical side, and your feelings will be a powerful indicator of the state of your world.

Hard to switch off, though, aren't they?
