Born
in the Universe - Astrology
Throughout
its several thousand year history Astrology has related to events, places
and people here on Earth.
Let
that thought wander across your mind for a few moments;
and then consider this :
What
if for any reason, Astrology had to consider something that originated
in some other part of the Universe! Lets say the life of a Human born
on Mars.
Suddenly the Earth would be one of the planets in the sky and the Birth
Chart.
This would have to be taken account of and Mars would be the place you
would view the heavenly bodies and Zodiac from.
Oh
yes, Astrology would still work, but for the first time the perspective
would be very different and that changed perspective makes it absolutely
inevitable that the person in question would have a new and strange
(to us) character that would not have been witnessed before.
On
several occasions last year Annabel and I considered and discussed this
fascinating scenario, though we never formed any firm opinions.
Recently
I read an article in Prediction, a magazine based in the UK. This article
explored the idea that Astrology and Astrologers would have to come
to terms with the imminent (within the next 20 years) possibility of
humans being born in places other than Earth.
let
your first thoughts on a practical level be about how different this
person born away from the Earth would be, perhaps due to the gravity
differences this person would rather not visit Earth.
NASA (the National Aeronautics and Space Administration) in the USA
is very firmly commited to humans landing on Mars in the near term.
Further, they are looking at the possibilities, dilemma's and technologies
necessary for Humans to live not only in space, but on other Planets.
Because
of the time necessary to travel within our Solar System sooner or later
you have to accept that the Humans involved in this endeavor are either
going to be long lived celibate monk like people ( so the mission will
last what? a maximum working life of 55 years) OR they are going to
create more humans during the mission!
Yes
the missions really are going to last more than a lifetime so the possibility
of humans born elsewhere is becoming a necessity and at this point let
me spell out that NASA is looking at all the implications of Terraforming.
This
is word I first heard in the film (movie) "Alien 2" and
assumed was a Hollywood invention. The word means to make an atmospheric
but uninhabitable world suitable for Earthly life. Let us slowly drop
the idea that this involves a lot of training and a good space suit
for the Earthling involved.
For
us Earthlings the idea of calling another Planet 'Home' is alien yet
your home helps to shape who you become both in terms of the practicalities
of family life and Astrologically in the influence of the planets.
Different
planets in different orientations result in different circumstances
and that in turn results in different beings.
How
different then will the alien born on the far side of the universe think
and how differently the human born elsewhere.
It is not going to be the physical differences that will make the alien
it will be the diference in thought and character.
After all an alien is just a being born under other influences and a
different home background.
