For everything there is a season

This season is an in between time; a time when the ravages of winter have done most of their clearing out of old vegetation, and rotten trees, and just before the spring in Aries time.

Pisces is a water sign and a mutable one at that, and its ruler is Neptune, the Sea God. Going way back into the dawn of time, we are told that the earth was covered in primordial soup from which all life emerged. As I child I used to have visions of green yucky stuff with unformed things floating about and disappearing into the depths.

However my vision may not be far off the truth. The Twelfth House, which Pisces is associated with, is the part of us which sometimes remains in the dark, below our consciousness, from which dreams, inspiration, and unformed thoughts emerge (from the 'Canyons of our Minds' Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band for those of you who remember the psychedelic sixties.....)

As such, although this part of our chart is hidden from the light of day, it forms the beginnings before the beginnings, life before the big bang, and in the beauty and simplicity of cyclic living it is where we return. In fact we spend more time as souls in this strange place than we do wandering the streets of planet earth, where we manifest our reality.

So the season brings us wetness, rain, storms, high seas, and dampness in the air. We plan the year ahead, as we have more or less forgotten Christmas and not yet made our plans for Easter. As such it is a resting, or waiting time, but nonetheless powerful in spite of that.

Now we can really embrace what the not so new year means for us, and how we intend it to be better than the one before. A time of contemplation, which can be spent acknowledging quietly our connections to everyone else and our beginnings from the same source, in contrast to a different paths.

The Alpha and the Omega.
